the promise of ~ing/why am i ~ing/switch A with,into,off,on/wrap my head around/indifferent

1. 시간 약속을 잘 지키는 건 정말 중요해

   I think keeping the promise of being on time is extremely important

* I think : 내 의견을 표현할때 시작하는 것

* keeping 유지하는것.

* the promise of ~ing : promise of being on time, promise of getting up early, promise of doing on time 등으로 변형해서 쓸 수 있다. Promise를 바꿔서 policy of, duty of, rule of ~ing 로 써도 된다. 

 

eg.1) i think keeping the rule of following the procedure is not much important

eg.2) i said that improving the law of closing the gap between the rich and the poor is needed

 

2. 어젯밤부터 왜 이렇게 배가 아프지?

   Why am i having a stomach ache since last night?

* 자기에게 묻는 케이스,

* Since는 시점을 말할수도, 사건을 말할수도잇따.

eg.1) why am i talking to you about this.

eg.2) why am i working too late since my boss was changed

eg.3) why is he doing the task i asked you to do 

 

3. 나는 너무 게으른거 같아. 고쳐야 하는데 잘 안된다.

   I am so lazy. It is difficult for me to switch my bad personality

* switch A with B : A를 B로 바꾸다, switch A off/on A를 끄다/키다

* switch A into 모드로 변경하다.

 

eg.1) it is difficult for my company to switch the culture of company with the better 

eg.2) he asked me to switch the camera into silent mode

eg.3) she already switched her computer off

eg.4) please switch it off 

 

4. 사실 무슨말을 해야할지 머릿속에 정리가 안됐어.

   I can't wrap my head around what to say

* wrap my head around ~

 

eg.1) i need a minute to wrap my head around what she did

eg.2) give me some minute to wrap my head around what you're saying

eg.3) i can wrap my head around that

eg.4) i think she never wrap her head around why i'm here

 

5. 나는 민트초코를 좋아하지도 싫어하지도 않아.

   I'm indifferent about mint chocolate

* indifferernt 는 무관심한, 좋지도 싫지도 않다. 라는 의미다.

사람의 태도에 대해 얘기할 때 쓰는데, 그 대상이 다른 사람을 가리키면 무관심. 사물이면 좋지도 싫지도 않다는 의미로 이해하자.

 

eg.1) his indifferent attitude made my boss angry 

eg.2) i'm indifferent about you

eg.3) i'm indifferent to suffering of others 

eg.4) aren't you too indifferent to me?
